I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), an evidenced-based therapy used in treating PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, and other distressing life events. I’m currently 100 % virtual and doing all of my sessions via teletherapy. Due to COVID, I have spent much of the last year doing virtual sessions and am confident I can create a safe, private, and healthy therapeutic environment for our sessions.
I have experience working with individuals, families, groups, children, adolescents, and women in outpatient programs, inpatient programs, and community mental health settings. I specialize in working with women and adolescents struggling with distressing life events, such as trauma, chronic pain, depression, suicidality, self-harm, anxiety, and neurodiverse disorders.
My goal for our sessions is to make therapy as helpful as possible in the shortest amount of time possible. I subscribe to a Solution Focused therapeutic orientation, which means, I believe every person has the capacity to improve their mental health. Some people just need help uncovering those abilities. I work from a relational perspective and am passionate about helping clients discover healthier ways to communicate and relate with others.
Finding a therapist is an extremely personal experience. It is comparable to “clicking” with a friend in that one needs to feel a connection and immediate level of comfort with their chosen therapist. I work to ensure you are comfortable with our therapeutic relationship, and if not, I offer referrals to other therapists who may be a better fit. Feel free to schedule a session with me via phone, email, or online scheduling.
