Being a therapist has been my only career. My therapeutic approach is Existential Phenomenological, heavily emphasizing Jungian psychology. I was introduced to Existential Phenomenology while attending the University of Dallas, where I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology. I obtained my master’s in psychology at the University of West Georgia. Then, after several years, I returned to school to obtain a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Additional studies include play therapy, art therapy, SandPlay, family studies, psychophysiology, and neuropsychology.

My eclectic tools range from expressive art therapies to cognitive behavioral techniques. In addition, I have been blessed with training and work opportunities that have sharpened my clinical skills. My experience includes being a therapist for outpatient clinics, private practice, and hospital settings (inpatient, day hospital/partial hospital, intensive outpatient, and mobile assessment team). My clients’ ages have ranged from 3 to older adults. My specialties are trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting issues, relationship issues, school issues, and ADHD.

My overall goal is to instill hope and health in individuals and families. The community eventually benefits by instilling hope and health in individuals and families. As a result, our societies have become healthier and better places for all of us.

My future educational goals are the following: complete the requirements to become a licensed art therapist, complete a second doctorate in psychophysiology specializing in nutrition, obtain certification as a registered play therapist and EMDR, and specialize in women’s issues, infertility, and using psychedelics in therapy for trauma resistant clients.

Besides my career, my home life consists of raising six children. I was blessed with a set of twins and triplets. I am still raising the three younger children. I have had the experience of being a young and old mother and going through infertility issues, which has made me treasure raising my children more. In addition, I enjoy the outdoors, crocheting, knitting, and sewing in my spare time.
